We announce the death of Verne Schoonover of Fall River, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Verne will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verne Schoonover Sr. and Elizabeth Schoonover (Carpenter); and his brothers, Clifford and Robert Schoonover. He is survived by: his wife Muriel Schoonover (Levesque); his children, Karen Glass (Scott), Sharron Furtado (James), Nancy Schoonover, Christopher Malone and Kenneth Malone (Nila); and his brothers, George Schoonover (Deborah) and Kenneth Schoonover. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to his daughter, Sharron's non-profit, Firefighters Wives Association, Inc. 330 Highview Ave. Somerset, MA 02720, in his memory.
