He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Whalen and Adele Whalen; his brother Tom; his wife Irene Lucille Desrosiers; his daughters, Linda Bessette (Buz), Kathleen Frederick (Peter) and Elizabeth Whalen (Kevin Nyman); his grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Trevor, Rebecca and Shawn; and his great grandchildren, Connor, George, Izzy (Isacc) and Norah Rose.
He was the President of a league at Hidden Hollow and enjoyed golfing until the age of 89 and until the Covid Pandemic occurred.
