He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen Flanagan; his parents, James Flanagan and Rose Flanagan; and his brothers, James Flanagan, Joseph F. X, SJ and Kevin Flanagan.
He is survived by: his children, John Flanagan (Patricia) of Andover, Rosemarie Flanagan Beltis (Donald) of Walpole, James Flanagan (Jean) of Mansfield, Paul Flanagan (Kathy) of Bretton Woods, NH, Eileen Kelly (James) of Walpole, Emily Flanagan (Michael Sheehan) of Charlestown and Newman Flanagan (Kristen) of Arlington; his grandchildren, John Flanagan, Erin Guyer, Ryan Flanagan, Christopher Beltis, Austin Beltis, Elizabeth Flanagan, James Flanagan, Sarah Palmer, Nora Rose Kelly, Joseph Flanagan and Newman Flanagan III; his great grandchildren, Lotsie, Deaglan, Rory Flanagan, Lily, Jack Guyer and Luke Palmer; and his sister Rosemarie Cronin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapman Funerals & Cremations - West Falmouth (584 W Falmouth Hwy, West Falmouth, MA 02574). A private funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
