He was predeceased by : his parents, Louis Deschenes and Rose Deschenes (Buteau); his siblings, Roland Deschenes (Helen) and Barbara Little (Deschenes); and his siblings-in-law, Angelina (Alexander "Shad" Nano), Sadie (Rocco Perla) and Frank Viola.

He is survived by : his wife Josephine Deschenes (DiNatale); his children, Robert J. Deschenes Jr., Joyce Deschenes, Beth Webster (Dean) and Patricia Meza (Mickey); and his sister-in-law Elena Viola. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
