He was predeceased by : his parents, Ruben Diaz and Teresa Ortiz; and his siblings, Sonia L. Alvarez and Gabriel Alvarez. He is survived by : his son Xavier S. Diaz of Gardner, MA; his siblings, Wanda G., Liza L. Alvarez, Julio Diaz, Paul Duenas, Jeffrey Duenas, Luisa Diaz, Taina Diaz, Denissa, Raymond Diaz and Lizmarie Miranda; and his grandchildren, Ximaya R. Diaz, Naleiya Diaz and Brian X Diaz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
