He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Distel and Lillian Distel (Shortz). He is survived by: his wife Katherine Garrahan; his daughters, Emily Distel Herman (Niko) of Wellesley and Laura Distel (Jacob Mirsky) of Watertown; his stepdaughters, Caroline Wazer (Steven White) of Cazenovia and Annmarie Haas (Hayden) of Darien, Connecticut; his grandchildren, Olivia, Penelope, Sophie and Perry; and his siblings, Judith Distel Eiraldi (Ricardo) of Berwyn and Daniel Distel (Debbie Pittman) of Windham. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Temple Beth Elohim (10 Bethel Rd, Wellesley, MA 02481). For information about Shiva, please contact the family.
