Rita H. Stoughton Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Rita H. Stoughton of Franklin, Massachusetts. Rita, born on October 16, 1934, passed away on August 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Petitto and Antoinette Petitto; her sister Angela Bowles (Ann); her husband Kenneth Stoughton; her cousin Catherine Pasqualucci; her grandson Richard Melanson Jr.; and her son-in-law Nicholas Bartzokis.
She is survived by: her sister Josephine Potter of Chichester, NH.; her friends, Helen and Peter Laviolette; her daughters, Karen McGrath (Matthew), Kathleen Melanson (Richard), Kelly Abbott (Charles) and Kristine Bartzokis (Darrell Charlesworth); her grandchildren, Kate Byrd, Erin Moran, Christopher Melanson, Emily Melanson, Bryan Abbott, Evan Abbott, Elizabeth Allers and Stephen Bartzokis; and her great grandchildren, Henry and Eloise Melanson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home & Cremation Service (33 Cottage St, Franklin, MA 02038). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (1 Church Square, Franklin, MA 02038).
