Alfred M. MacIsaac Jr. Obituary
Alfred M. MacIsaac Jr, 69, of Gloucester formerly of Rockport, husband of Elaine M. (Sears) MacIsaac passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and stepdaughter Mary Ellen on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
He was born Gloucester, MA on September 7, 1952, son of the late Alfred M. MacIsaac Sr. and Alice (Parsons) MacIsaac.
Alfred worked from 1972 to 1978 for Becker-Loring Corp as a sheet metal mechanic and in 1978 he was a self-employed Lobsterman. He worked for the Rockport Public School starting out as a custodian in 1979 then, in 1999 becoming the Maintenance Man from there Al was promoted to Building and Grounds supervisor in 2000. Alfred was a Sergeant in the Army National Guard from 1975 to 1977 in the Military Police Company.
Al retired in 2007 to Maine. Then he left for sunny Florida then moved to Sun City, Arizona. Upon retirement they traveled across country to many of the National Parks, visiting Yellowstone, Badlands Glacier, Grand Tetons, and Mt. Rushmore. He traveled through Utah, visited friends in Phoenix onto Tombstone. He also visited Graceland.
He was an all-around sportsman, hunting and fishing teaching his children and grandchildren along the way. He also had a great story to tell about all of his adventures during his lifetime.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alfred is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elaine M. MacIsaac of Gloucester; his son, Michael MacIsaac and his wife of Maine; step-children, Mary Ellen Spinola and her partner, Diane Ciaramitaro, William Gilliss and his wife Melissa, Colleen Burke and her husband Richard; grandchildren, Tiffany Ruszenas and her husband of Maine, Tyler Hobbs and his wife Emily of Groveland, Anastasia Spinola, Caroline Gaipo, Sam and Noah Burke all of Gloucester, Ethan and Nolan Gilliss of Ipswich and Kasey MacIsaac of Maine; great grandson, Jackson Hobbs of Groveland; sisters, Marion Purin of Florida and Esther Garlick of Rockport; sisters-in-law, Sister Mary Sears of New Hampshire, Emily Culpepper, Lyn Bailey and her husband Ed all of MA; special friend, Bill Bernard of Rockport; friends from the Rockport Public Schools, friends from Chester, Maine, Glendale, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and cousins who he enjoyed spending time with.
He was predeceased by his brother, Harold MacIsaac; niece, Esther Maguire and his in-laws, Everett and Nora Sears.
Per Al's request there are no services. Just remember all the fun we had with him.
