Arline W. Cabral Obituary

Arline W. (Stass) Cabral, 83, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, in her home, with her loving family at her side. She was the wife and soulmate of Richard G. Cabral, with whom she shared 68 amazing years.

Arline was born in Lewiston, Maine on February 26, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leona (Cote) Stass. Arline came to Gloucester for a vacation and met her future husband, Richard, the love of her life. They married in 1955 and she dedicated the rest of her life to the care of her family. She was always involved with activities with her children from being a scout leader and chaperoning, to sewing special costumes and outfits for parades and other activities. In her later years when her children were grown she enjoyed vacationing in New Hampshire with her husband where they had spent their honeymoon. They continued to go back there every year and enjoyed seeing all the people that they had made friends with over the years. Her greatest enjoyment came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arline was beyond an amazing grandmother. She supported all her grandchildren wholeheartedly, whether it be her enthusiastic support of school activities and sporting events, cutting out newspaper articles of their honors, triumphs, and activities, or a shared passion for Elvis. She loved spending time with her family and even in her later days her face would light up when someone she loved walked into the room. Her love for others will last beyond a lifetime and she will remain adored by her family.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Brancaleone and her significant other, William Robinson, her son, Richard Cabral, and his wife, Karen, all of Rockport; her grandchildren, Joseph Brancaleone and his wife, Renee, of West Boyleston, Richard Brancaleone and his wife, Kate, of Mansfield, Salvatore Brancaleone and his wife, Caitlyn, of Billerica, Ben Cabral and his wife, Alex, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Katherine Murphy and her husband, Mike, of Stockbridge, Vermont, and Rachel Cabral of Rockport; great grandchildren Clayton and Scarlett Brancaleone of West Boylston and Lily Brancaleone of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Stass, her grandson, Chris Cabral, and her son-in-law Salvatore Brancaleone.

In keeping with Arline's wishes her service and burial are being held privately.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her memory to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online http://www.dementiasociety.org. Or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or http://www.caredimensions.org.
