Bernard M. Cronin Obituary
Bernard M. Cronin, 87, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was the husband of Helen I. (Dillon). Cronin with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Bernard was born in Worcester, MA to Michael and Mary Cronin. After high school he went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut, where he also played football.
In 1975, Bernard and his wife Helen moved to Magnolia where they raised their family together. During his free time, he enjoyed many hobbies including reading, traveling to Ireland, and follow the Boston sports teams. In 2000, Bernard and Helen moved to Florida so he could pursue a career in sales training. They returned to Magnolia in 2020 to be closer to family after the Covid pandemic.
In addition to his wife Helen, Bernard is survived by his children, Michael (Heidi) of Wenham, Barry (Katherine) of Darien, CT, Maura and Kevin of West Gloucester, and Sharon of Alexandria, VA; and 8 grandchildren, Emily and Katie Cronin, Dillon, Molly, Brendan, and Ryan Smith, and Patrick and Tyler Cronin.
His memorial Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA on Sunday, August 31, 2025 (his 88th birthday) at 8:30 a.m. Private services to follow.
