Brenda Lee Kirmes Obituary
Brenda Lee (Corkadel), Kirmes 61, of Gloucester, MA, beloved wife of Edward Charles Kirmes, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Born in Somerville, MA on May 4, 1964, she was the daughter of Isabella and Norman Corkadel.
Brenda had a warm heart and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in the simple and beautiful things, caring for cat (s), getting out the house, going to play bingo every Saturday night with Eddie, and volunteering at the Senior Center and at Open Door. You could always catch Brenda watching The Game Show Network or her beloved Red Sox.
Her laughter, kindness, and generosity brought happiness to many. She had a gift for making people laugh and making people feel welcomed. She loved chatting with the ladies down in the community room. Her warmth will live on in the countless memories she created with those around her.
Brenda, also known as Nana and GamGam, would spend countless hours with her grandchildren as often as possible. She never showed up empty handed even if it was just a big bag of candy.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Edward C Kirmes; devoted mother to Kimberly (Kirmes) Malave and Shawn Kirmes and his wife Jennifer. She leaves behind five cherished grandchildren, Christefer Malave, Jeramy Barry, Arron Barry, Connor Kirmes and Myles Kirmes, who brought her endless laughter, smiles, memories and joy.
Brenda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, her bingo buddies and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, September 12, from 5-7pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 11am in Gethsemane Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA., 02132.
