Carl A. Paul Obituary
Carl A. Paul, 87, of Gloucester, husband of the late Rosemary (Michael) Paul, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 25, 2021, surrounded by his family. Carl was born in Oelwein, Iowa on March 11, 1934 and was the son of the late Jesse and Irene (Niswonger) Paul.
Carl graduated from Waterloo High School in Iowa. He joined the US Navy and honorably served during the Korean War.
Carl was a lifelong boater, who gave his friends and extended family an endless supply of fun adventures and memories of past trips to Crane's Beach, the Annisquam River, Provincetown, the Isles of Shoals, and the Southern Maine coast. His marine pursuits included a long-term affiliation with donating his time and energy for many years to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Other hobbies along the way included old pickup trucks, CB Radio, and motorcycles.
He is survived by his children: Gregory, Laura and Pamela, his grandchildren Nowaf, Asa , Aziza, Nasya Al-Saidy , Victoria Hoysradt and a multitude of cousins and family friends...and Max, his faithful dog.
He was predeceased by his wife Rosemary, who was his soulmate.
A visiting hour will be held in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, Gloucester, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 10-11 a.m. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. All guests are required to wear face coverings. A private burial will follow.
