Carlos M. Goulart Obituary

Carlos M. Goulart, 73, of Gloucester, peacefully passed away on December 14th, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Carlos was born in Sao Mateus, Pico, Azores on September 11th, 1952, son of the late Manuel J. Goulart and Cecilia DaSilva. Carlos came over to live in Gloucester in 1975.

Carlos enjoyed spending time with his wife of 50 years, his children, their spouses, and his three grandchildren. He loved spending his summers at his home on Pico. He was so proud to be able to stay in his childhood home that he had renovated. He was an avid soccer fan, rooting for his favorite team, Benfica. His family will always have fond memories of his laughter and warmth.

He is survived by his wife Maria Lasalette Goulart, his daughter Carlen and her husband Steven Montello, his son Michael and his wife Jessica Goulart, his three grandchildren Sophia Montello, Lilyana and Landon Goulart, his sisters and their families in Canada, and his sisters-in-law and their families in Gloucester, and many cousins and friends both in America and the Azores. He was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Cecilia, his brothers, Manuel and Mario, his brothers-in-law Celestino and Manuel, and his father-in-law Dionisio and mother-in-law Arcangela.

As Carlos had wished, there will be a private ceremony for his immediate family.
