He was predeceased by: his parents, Parker B. Knowles and Evelyn M. Knowles (Firth); his siblings, Robert "Stubby", Rosco "Peany" Knowles, Marilyn Gallant and Karen Cabral; and his stepchildren, Beth Jackson (Ed Dahlmer) and Jon MacDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia D. Knowles (Mackey); his son Steven Knowles (Caroline); his grandchildren, Nicole, Alex Dahlmer, Gage, Chaz and Vance Knowles; his stepchildren, Rick, Chris and James MacDonald; and his stepgrandchildren, Brian, Tyler, Julie and Chris MacDonald Jr..
