Enza Josephine Taormina Obituary
Enza Josephine Taormina, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born in Gloucester on March 3, 1965, Enza was the beloved daughter of Salvatore and Serafina Ferrara. She spent her entire life in the community she loved, building a life centered around family, tradition, and devotion to those closest to her.
Enza was the devoted wife of Salvatore Taormina. She was a loving and proud mother to her three sons, Frank Taormina and his wife Valerie, Salvatore Taormina, and Anthony Taormina and his wife Brooke. Her greatest joy in life was her role as "Nonna" to her cherished grandchildren, Valentina and Luca, who were truly the light of her world.
She is survived by her siblings, sister Fay Puopolo, brother Salvatore Ferrara, and sister-in-law Rose Ferrara as well as her mother-in-law, Giovanna Taormina.
Enza dedicated many years of service to the City of Gloucester, working in various roles within the school system and as Executive Assistant to the Mayor. She was proud of her work and the connections she made throughout her career.
A woman deeply rooted in family, Enza placed her loved ones above all else. Her presence lit up every room she entered, and she had a special way of making everyone feel important and valued. To know her was truly to love her, and she was deeply loved in return by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was incredibly selfless, brave, and strong right to her very last breath.
She found her greatest happiness in family traditions, holidays, and time spent with her cousins and comari. She loved to go shopping, dance the night away, and travel the world with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She was immensely proud of her sons and found joy in watching them grow and thrive throughout their lives.
Her love, strength, style and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Saint Ann's Church from 8:00–10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
