Everett A. Sawyer Jr. Obituary
Everett A. Sawyer Jr, 84, of Gloucester, passed away February 11, 2024, at Care One Essex Park in Beverly, surrounded by family. He is the husband of Cynthia M. (Carroll). Sawyer with whom they shared 58 years of marriage.
Everett was born on March 21, 1939, to Delia (Morley) and Everett Sawyer. Everett graduated from Gloucester High School and began a lifelong career as an electrician. He first worked for a number of local electrical businesses and later became a 54 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 103. Everett also enjoyed a 30 + year part time business of lobster fishing.
Everett and his beloved wife, Cynthia, met in school and married in 1958. They raised their family on the same street Everett was born and raised. Anyone driving or walking along Sayward St, no doubt, saw Everett cutting the front hedges with precision care. Everett and Cynthia enjoyed many years travelling in their RV and wintering in Port Orange, Florida.
Everett is survived by his daughter Lisa Redmond & her husband Timothy of Charlton; his son Everett III & his wife Jenice of Wanchese, N.C.; two grandchildren, Ryan Redmond and Hayley Sawyer. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul and sister, Margaret Lister.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4-7p.m. at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
