John W. DeCoste Obituary

John W. "Jack" DeCoste, 86 of Gloucester, passed away on Friday evening, January 14, 2022, at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his daughter by his side.

He was born in Gloucester on December 21, 1935, son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Ekborg) DeCoste.

He worked for many years as a foreman for Ocean Crest Seafoods.

Jack was very active in the Gloucester Lodge of Elks. He was a Lifetime Member recently celebrating 50 years. He was very proud to serve as Exalted Ruler and the District Deputy. He also was a former councilor for the City of Gloucester.

John is survived by his daughter, Cathy Tyrrell and her husband Larry; sons, Ron Martin and his wife Tammy, Steven DeCoste and his wife Emma, John Carey and Michael Carey; grandchildren, Christopher, Susan and Joshua DeCoste, Jaimie Camille, Sydney, Erin, Olivia and Hannah Carey, Michael and Brittany Martin; 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald DeCoste and Stanley DeCoste; his wives, Susan (Amero) DeCoste and Sandra (Gridley) DeCoste.

In keeping with his wishes, services will be held privately.
