Josephine M. Wall Obituary

Josephine M. "Jodi" Wall, 56, of Gloucester, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from complications of Covid 19. She was born in Gloucester, MA, on April 9, 1965, daughter of William and Grace (Aiello) Wall. Jodi was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1983 and later received her medical assistant certificate from Essex Aggie. She worked for the City of Gloucester Housing Authority for many years as the Administrator. She loved to golf and playing on the girls' softball league.

Jodi was always willing to lend a helping hand. Along with her forever best friend, Val, they were avid members of the local Moose and Legion clubs, where friends turned into family, volunteering throughout the community in their spare time. Her dedication to these organizations awarded her the title of Auxiliary Member of the Year and College of Regent award at the Legion. Over the years, Jodi volunteered to coach all sports, including softball, basketball and football, anything to support her son, Jamie. She was President of the St. Peter's Tigers Softball and Basketball programs, and President of the Tigers Football PTO as well.

Most of all, Jodi loved family. She used any excuse to get the entire Wall crew together. It didn't matter the event, her generous, kind heart thought of everyone. Whether it was dressing up at Halloween as Pikachu or filling a pinata for a Lobster bake, Aunt Jodi made sure each child received a special gift from her, regardless if they were family or not. She always made sure to have extra just in case. She was the person everyone could depend on no matter what.

But nothing compared to "her boys"; Jamie, Dallas and Deklan, and her relationship with them and Erin. Her boys were the loves of her life. She went to any event she could to support them; hockey, soccer, track, you name it. Jodi was there cheering them on. When she wasn't watching from the sidelines, she was planning special lunch dates with the boys and Erin, taking them on adventures and mystery rides. When Jodi spoke of her boys, it was pure joy and pride.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jodi is survived by her son, James J. Wall and his wife Erin of Gloucester; sister, Gina Stanwood of Byfield, MA; brothers, William Wall, Christopher Wall and his wife Katherine, Jonathan Wall and his wife Lisa all of Gloucester; grandsons, Dallas and Deklan Wall; niece, Lily Wall and nephew, Darren Stanwood Jr and his wife Shawna; aunt, Mary Saputo and her late husband Vincent; cousin, Dawn Marie McCarthy and her husband Michael of NH; and her best friend, Val Cook.

She was predeceased by Uncle Vincent Saputo; cousin, John Saputo and William D. Wall II.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing during both visiting hours and during Mass.
