Judith Anne Sutherland Obituary

Judith "Judy" Anne Sutherland, 68, of Gloucester passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Beverly Hospital. At the time of her death, she resided at Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Beverly.

She was born in Gloucester, MA on May 28, 1954, daughter of Raymond and Rita (Perry) Sutherland.

Judy attended St. Mel's Day School, graduating from Gloucester High School, Class of 1972 and went on to study at North Shore Community College. She later worked in the healthcare industry as a nurse's aide.

She was passionate about beauty and fashion, a true fashionista. She was crowned "Miss Seaport" during a local festival in the 1970's and enjoyed travelling into Boston. Judy was a devoted catholic and attended masses with her family at St. Peter's and then at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. Judy enjoyed breakfast outings and shopping trips with her mother, long walks on Good Harbor Beach as she felt calm and free with the sand between her toes and salty wind in her hair.

Judy is survived by her siblings, Jo Anne Lane, Raymond, Robert and Jayne Carpenter and her husband Bradford, Richard, Ronald, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, five great nieces and 5 great nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond, and Rita Sutherland. Our mother was her biggest supporter, dedicating her life to ensuring Judy was taken care of.

In keeping with her wishes services will be held privately.
