Lorraine A. Blatchford Obituary

Lorraine A Blatchford, 90, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, May 15, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Gloucester in 1935, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Ladonna. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1954 and from Vermont Junior College in 1956. Lorraine worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Abbot Hooper before working alongside the love of her life, "Bobby" (the late Dr. Robert Blatchford DDS) for over 50 years.

Lorraine never had a bad word to say about anyone; she was one of the kindest and most loving individuals you could ever be around. She loved Gloucester with all her heart and though a week was not complete without having her hair and nails done, taking daily walks on the Boulevard, a place she thought was the most beautiful place in the world, was a necessity. But the joy she had was being around her family.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, H. Scott Blatchford and his wife Alison of Canton, Georgia, and Kevin Blatchford and his wife Ann McCann of Gloucester. She was "Nana" to her six grandchildren, Remi, Eleanor, Margaret (Nicholas), John, Catherine and Caroline, each of whom adored her and in March, had the joy of becoming a great grandmother to Theo, the son of Margaret and Nicholas Patterson.

Services will be private.
