Luis F. Nunes Obituary

Luis F. Nunes, 39 of Gloucester MA passed away unexpectedly at home after battling a brief illness on Thursday July 17, 2025.

Born in 1986 in Faial, Azores, Luis moved to the United States at 18 months old with his family.

Luis was a graduate of Gloucester High School and attended Salem State University, where he graduated with a degree in hospitality.

A friend to many, Luis will be remembered by all of those who cherished him. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, playing poker, and rooting for his favorite Boston sports teams. When he wasn't enjoying his many hobbies, he enjoyed the company of his four-legged friends Scrappy and Lilly.

His fashion sense will never be forgotten, always to be seen sporting his signature braids and a stylish pair of sneakers from his vast collection.

Nothing brought Luis more joy than his goddaughter, Harper. She was the love of his life, and he always beamed with pride for her.

Luis is survived by his parents, Manuel and Alexandrina Nunes; brother, Roberto Nunes; niece and goddaughter, Harper Nunes; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Carlos Rodrigues Luis, Rosa de Gloria Garcia, Manuel Nunes Roberto, Lidia Lourdes Roberto as well as his aunt, Maria Paulina Silva.

A visitation will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Thursday, July 24, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Mass will follow in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
