Maria L. Senos Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maria Lucinda Senos, 94, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, who peacefully passed away surrounded by family on May 19, 2026.
Born on January 12, 1932, in Ílhavo, Portugal, Maria Lucinda lived a remarkable life defined by resilience, devotion to family, and generosity toward everyone she met. She was known for her warm heart, quiet strength, immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the countless hours she lovingly spent cooking, crocheting, and knitting for those she loved.
Together with her loving husband, the late Anibal P. Senos, she worked tirelessly to build a better life for their family after immigrating to Gloucester from Portugal. Their home was always filled with warmth, respect, and love. This legacy lives on through the traditions, values, and unwavering love she passed down to her family.
She leaves behind generations who will forever be shaped by her wisdom, kindness, and unconditional love, she will be mostly missed by her daughter, Maria R. Silva; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Ana Maria Senos; several grandchildren, including Joseph Senos Jr., Andrea Ramsey (wife of Jon Ramsey), and Andrew Silva (husband of Heather Silva); and numerous great-grandchildren, including Jack and Ava Senos, Harper and Hudson Ramsey, and Zach and Natalie Silva, along with many other loving family members and dear friends. Maria Lucinda was predeceased by her son-in-law, Guilherme Silva.
Though our hearts are deeply saddened by this loss, her family takes comfort in knowing Maria Lucinda's love and legacy will continue through the generations she cherished so deeply. Her hands created countless cherished heirlooms, but her greatest treasure was the love, values, and traditions she passed down to her family. To those she leaves behind, she will always be remembered as "Ma" and "Nana," and she will be forever loved, treasured, and deeply missed.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester. She will then be laid to rest in Ílhavo, Portugal, beside her late husband, Anibal.
In lieu of flowers, Maria Lucinda's family kindly requests that donations in her memory be made to children's charities.
