Marlyn A. Orlando Obituary
Marilyn A. (McKenney) Orlando, wife of the late Anthony P. Orlando, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021. Marilyn was born in Somerville, MA on May 28, 1938, to the late Clyde and Eleanor (Buckley) McKenney. Marilyn was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1956. She was a telecommunications specialist for New England Telephone and was employed at Addison Gilbert Hospital for over 30 years.
As an avid traveler, Marilyn's joy in life was exploring new places and enjoying all of life's adventures. In addition to traveling, she loved spending time with her friends and family whether it was sharing a good book, drinking a glass of wine, spending her summers by the beach, going for drives throughout Cape Ann, or chasing some of Cape Ann's most beautiful sunsets.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; her parents, Clyde and Eleanor McKenney; her father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Orlando; siblings, David and Vincent; daughter, Mary-Ellen (Orlando) Ingersoll; daughter-in-law, Katherine J. (Russell) Orlando and her companion, John Tyak. She is survived by her children, Chris Orlando and wife Karen, Scott and wife Charlotte, of San Juan, PR, Robert Orlando and partner Kendra Tolman, and Ann-Marie (Orlando) Ryan and fiancée Fred Carter; her grandchildren, Kyle Curley and wife Laurie, Kristin Curley and her partner Jeremy Kiley, Wayne Ingersoll and partner Samantha Nichols, Nicole (Orlando) Barba and husband Guillermo, Vanessa, Alexander, Anthony, Bryan and his partner Jennifer, Ashley, Tyler, Nia and her husband Dave; Ryan, Alyssa, Erin, and Hannah; and her many great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Leonard Orlando and his wife Patricia; sisters-in-law, Josephine Orlando, Rosemary (Orlando) Smith, Susan Orlando, and JoAnn Orlando and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gloucester Fraternity Club, 27 Webster Street, Gloucester.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA.
