Matthew J. Crowley Obituary
Matthew J. "Matty" Crowley, 60, of Gloucester, husband of Mary M. (Scullin) Crowley, passed away at Tuft's Medical Center in Boston on November 4, 2021, after an ongoing battle with cancer.
Matty was born in Boston, MA on September 15, 1961 and was the son of Della A. (Cavallini) Crowley and the late William Francis Crowley. He graduated from Lynnfield High School and attended Boston University College.
He was a master at photography. Ocean scenes, flowers and scenery were his favorite sights to capture. But the generous side of him gave most of those photos away, instead of profiting from them. But, his passion was for the ocean. He loved surf fishing, whether on Cape Ann or Cape Cod. He ventured out innumerable times on his Uncle Matty's boat" The Alana". He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary, his son Chris Annetti; his mother Della Crowley; sisters, Virginia Costello and Maria Wilkinson; three brothers, Billy, Danny and Mark Crowley and numerous friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, on Thursday, November 11 from 9-11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. A service will follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
