Palma A. Biondo Obituary

Palma A. "Pimie" Biondo, 92, of Gloucester, wife of the late Louis L. "Gino" Biondo passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Ledgewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.

She was born in Gloucester, MA on August 18, 1932, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Frontiero) Rallo.

Pimie graduated from Gloucester High School in 1951. She was very active in her class, including playing on the basketball team and participating in the pep squad.

She worked in the school cafeteria at Gloucester Public Schools for many years. Pimie loved seeing the students every day.

Pimie was all about family and Sunday dinners with her amazing spaghetti and sauce. She enjoyed her grandchildren, life on the boulevard, gatherings, pool parties, and cookouts at Stage Fort Park. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and GHS Football games. Pimie was also involved with St. Peter's Fiesta, participating in the novena and procession and was a ribbon holder for the St. Peter's statue. She was a Madonna Del Rosario Club member, St. Peter's Ladies Auxiliary, and the Bean Baggers. She was also active in the Ladies Guild at St. Ann's Church and was a, communicant.

Pimie will be deeply missed by her sons, Louis L. Biondo Jr. and his companion Rosalie Ciaramitaro, Lawrence Biondo and his wife Debbi; daughter, Maria Martin; grandchildren, Matthew Martin and his wife Carly, Marcus Martin, Kelly Biondo and Brianna Biondo; great-granddaughter, Hazel Grace Martin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Connie Marino and Regina Philbrook,; brother-in-law, Lenny Biondo and wife Elizabeth, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; longtime close friends, Mary Gentile, Rosie Verga, Agnes Burnham, and Katy Foote.

She was predeceased by her son, Joseph E. Biondo; son-in-law, Dana Martin; sisters, Mary Scola (Samuel) and Rosalie Palmisano (Charles); brother-in-law, Lorenzo Scola (Jennie), Stephen Biondo (Frances), Frank "Chico" Marino, Charles Philbrook and her close friend, Mary Interrante.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held prior to the Mass in St. Ann's Church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester, MA.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Ledgewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Staff for their kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, 74 Pleasant St, Gloucester, MA, or Cape Ann Food Pantry, 28 Emerson Avenue, Gloucester, MA.
