Pasquale Vitale Obituary

Pasquale Vitale, 79, of Gloucester, husband of Giovanna (Curreri) Vitale passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Terrasini, Sicily, Italy on July 16, 1944, son of the late Nicolo and Angela (Catalfio) Vitale.

Pasquale served in the Italian Army and later worked as a mason to support his family.

He came to the United States in 1967 bringing his masonry skills here and worked with his brother as a mason and carpenter. He also fished with his brother out of Gloucester and later started his own carpentry business and worked for Connolly Brothers for 10 years before retiring.

Pasquale loved spending time with his family, extended family, and his many friends.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pasquale is survived by his wife of 55 years, Giovanna (Currieri) Vitale; daughter, Angela Vitale and her fiancé Rick Poliskey; sons, Nicolo Vitale, Fabrizio Vitale and his fiancé Sally Bridges; grandchildren, Kayla Collibee and her fiancé Brandan Jordan, Christian Vitale-Miller and his fiancé Brittany Williams; great-grandchildren, Nora Vitale-Miller and Juliana Giovanna Jordan; step-grandson, Seth Poliskey; brother, Leonardo Vitale and his wife Rosalie; his sister in-laws Marie and Piera Vitale, Agatha Pallazolo, Angela Mendula and her husband Lino; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Antonino and Giuseppe Vitale, brothers-in-law, Francesco and Roberto Curreri, his niece Angela Vitale, and his nephew Nicolo Vitale.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
