Patrick Silveira Obituary
Patrick Silveira, 57, of Gloucester, fiancé of Dawn Muise, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was born in Gloucester, MA on May 26, 1964, son of Ellen V. (Fahy) Silveira and the late Eugene J. Silveira, Sr. Pat was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1982.
He received his Associate Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Essex Aggie in 1984 and later attended UMass Amherst. Pat worked extensively in the restaurant industry from Gloucester to Hawaii, with numerous stops along the way. He went on to work in the corporate world with AT&T and ultimately found his way back home to Gloucester, working at many local restaurants.
In 2018, he partnered with good friend Jack Fallon to open the Salt Water Grille, a dream come true. Pat's calm leadership and passion for cooking were instrumental in the restaurant's success. Pat enjoyed the beach, travel, good food and any 15-minute nap he could squeeze in. On his days off you could find him fishing, golfing or simply relaxing at his favorite spot, Good Harbor Beach.
He was an avid Boston sports fan, a supporter of the underdog, a proud coach to his son James and the athletes of the Cape Ann. Special Olympics, and thoroughly enjoyed being the number one admirer of his mom, Ellen. Pat's magnetic personality, caring demeanor, and quick wit, along with the Salt Water Grille's chalkboard specials will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Patrick is survived by his fiancé, Dawn Muise; two daughters, Emily and Elizabeth Silveira, two sons, Ryan and James Silveira; granddaughter, Rosalie "Rosie" Silveira; his mother, Ellen Silveira; brothers, Jeffrey Silveira and wife Beth, Jack Silveira, Brian Silveira and wife Angelica, Eugene Silveira and wife Tammy, and sister, Jill Silveira; along with nephews, Patrick Lacey and Evan Silveira.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Silveira, Sr. and nephew, John "JJ" Nicastro. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings during Mass. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
