Robert James Rich Obituary
Robert James Rich passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, with "The Love of his Life" Michele, by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. with the Love and Support of his loyal brother, Michael, and his beautiful children, Joey, Michaela (partner Rob), Jimmy and his wife Brianna and his grandchildren, Mikalina, Leon and Jaylyn.
Bob was born on December 16, 1965, in Gloucester to the late Elizabeth Ann Rich and the late Robert Melvin Rich.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Gloucester. He attended Gloucester High School and graduated from North Shore Technical School in 1984. Bob started his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator at RB Strong, then he spent two decades as a site manager for waste management and then ending his career at (Tallys)'s towing in Gloucester as a CDL truck driver.
Bob and his family had the love and support from all of his amazing friends, especially Kelly Reardon, Kathy Reardon and Ronda Middleton Herschoff; his childhood friends, who he enjoyed telling stories with and kept him smiling, with them to the end, Sal Frontiero, Gene Silveira, Gary Joseph, Harold (Haps) Ercoloni, Bruce Ercoloni and Scott Duffany.
Bob was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding his Harley. He was very well respected and supported throughout his battle with cancer by his brothers from all the clubs. He was very loyal to all of his brothers in the Aces and Eights, The Hells Angels, Salem the Rainmakers, The Chieftains, The Red Devils, The Vets, The Widow Sons and so many more.
Bob's biggest joy of his life was his children and grandchildren They spent many years taking many crazy adventures having fun, laughing, joking around, cooking and so much more. His grandchildren were his whole world, and he enjoyed the title of "Grampy" to Mikalina, Leon and Jaylyn more than Life. They spent many days having lunch together, going to the park, to the mall and just talking and having fun. His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren and future grandchildren.
He enjoyed hunting and loved his guns and going to Maine every year, where he enjoyed hunting and hanging out with his cousins, Sonny, Mike Sr, Mike Jr. and Logan.
Bob enjoyed travelling with Michele they traveled to Paris, London (He loved it), Edinburgh Scotland and Ireland several times after meeting so many lifelong friends. They even went to his First Rock and Roll Concert (Aerosmith) in Dublin.
He loved fishing, especially in the Bahamas and with Jamie and Donna from Go Girl Fishing.
He loved riding his Harley with his brothers and going to many Motorcycle Events supporting other Clubs especially Salem 81 and so much more.
Bob will be remembered for is big heart, adventurous spirit, the storytelling, and his crazy sense of humor. His generous spirit and for always lending an ear. He will be sadly missed by all.
Bob is survived by his beloved, Michele; his brother, Michael Rich; his son Joey, daughter, Michaela and her partner, Rob and his son, Jimmy, and his wife, Brianna and his beautiful grandchildren, Jaylyn, Leon and Mikalena; his niece, Kristen and Kimrya and Creed; his uncle, George Drohan, who is a World War II and Vietnam Veteran. He is also survived by his uncle, David Rich and his aunt, Angela, who he and his brother had many long talks with and his godmother, Justine (Juddy) Quinn , who all have been there to love and support Bob and his family; also all of his cousins in Gloucester, Maine, Virginia, and California especially Mike Sr, Mike Jr. Erica, Logan, Pauline and Andrea.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Melvin E. and Marion (Churchill) Rich and his maternal grandparents, James and Catherine (Drohan) Shea.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 16, 2025, with a Motorcycle Ride at 12:00 noon then 1 to 5 p.m. at the Gloucester Elks followed by lots of food, music and stories to celebrate an Amazing Man.
