Rosa R. Figueiredo Obituary

Rosa (Ramos) Figueiredo, 84, of Gloucester, wife of Ernesto P. Figueiredo passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Beverly Hospital. She was born in Verdemilho, Aveiro, Portugal on November 8, 1937, daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa Victoria (da Silva) Ramos. She attended schools in Portugal. In 1976 Rosa and her family immigrated to the U.S. in search of a better life. She went to work at Mighty Mac and then went to Gorton's where she made many long-lasting relationships until she retired after twenty-five years.

Rosa's talents were many. She was an extremely accomplished cook of her delicious Portuguese dishes she was very proud of being one of the best in making the traditional Easter Folar (sweet bread). Rosa truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting spending time with family, always making sure everyone was well fed. Rosa had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep positive way. Rosa enjoyed her trips to Portugal and her door was always open to anyone that she knew. She will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. One of her biggest joys in life was cooking her big Sunday dinners for her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernesto P. Figueiredo; her children, Joao Paulo Figueiredo and wife Joyce, Carla Cracchiolo and companion Marcos Lima; her grandchildren, Vanessa Scatterday and husband Bradley, Carlo Joseph and fiancé Aimee Sullivan, Alexandra and Joshua Figueiredo and her great-granddaughter, Isabelle Rose Scatterday. She is also survived by her siblings, Maria (Alice) Carrapichosa, Maria Marnoto and husband Armando and Aurelia White and husband John from Gloucester, Joao Ramos, Antonio Ramos and wife Rosa and Julio Ramos and wife Cidalia from Portugal, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beautiful babies, Jose Casimiro and Pedro; her parents; siblings, Eneida, Lurdes, Felicidade, Manuel and Mario from Portugal, and her beloved son-in-law, Giuseppe Cracchiolo.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester, on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing during Mass. The burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. There will be no visiting hours.
