Rose M. Bertolino Obituary
Rose M. (Scuderi) Bertolino, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, peacefully, at home with her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonino Bertolino whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was born in Boston on January 23, 1929, daughter of the late Concetto and Lena (Montagnino) Scuderi.
She was a graduate of Gloucester High School Class of 1946. In her early years, she had worked as an Adjudicator for the State Division of Employment Security. After she retired, she was a Site Manager at McPherson Apts. for SeniorCare for about 10 years. Rosie loved having family and friends over for many celebrations, cookouts, family gatherings, especially during the St. Peter's Fiesta.
In her early years she loved to bowl and was a member of the Cape Ann Women's League, she enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards, and going to the Casino. She adored her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted and caring daughter, Lydia Bertolino, her two devoted sons, Michael Bertolino and his wife Diane of Rockport, and Paul Bertolino of Fort Lauderdale.
Her most loving and caring grandchildren Jennifer and Michael Bertolino, her sisters-in-law Josephine and Anna Scuderi; her many nieces, nephews, Godchildren; special friends Betty Veator, Grace Romeo, and Julie Thibodeau. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Barbara Bertolino, her sister Catherine and brother-in-law Michael Lentini, brothers Rosario (Sonny) and Vincent Scuderi, her nephew Paul Scuderi and niece Leah (Militello) Scuderi, and cousin Bernadette Shayeb.
Visiting hours well be held on Thursday, October 7, from 5-7 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St, Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, Prospect St. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. followed by her burial in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Family Parish, 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, MA 01930, or a charity of one's choice.
