William F. Ellis Obituary
William "Bill" Ellis, 66, husband of Susan "Sue" (Doyle) Ellis passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Kaplan Family House, Danvers with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gloucester on November 25, 1956, son of the late Winston and Barbara (Burns) Ellis.
Bill was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1974. He entered the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and served for 4 years assigned to the aircraft carrier CV42 USS Franklin D Roosevelt and the frigate FF1080 USS Paul and retired from the United States Coast Guard Reserves serving 20 years. Bill worked in the instrumentation and control field where he started his own company, Ellis Engineering. He later joined Weston and Sampson in 2010 as a General Manager. Bill was a Life Member of Post 83 Legion, Post 32 Amvets and Post 1624 VFW.
Bill enjoyed boating, camping, going to Wingaersheek beach and traveling but most of all enjoys spending time with family and grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pah". He was a Patriots season ticket holder and a fixer of everything he could get his hands on.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue Ellis; daughter, Brianna Ribeiro, and her husband Tony; son, Kenny Ellis and his wife Renee; 2 grandchildren, Grayson and Mila Ribeiro; sister, Anne Parsons and her husband Steve; brother, John Ellis and his wife Ann; sister-in-law, Kristie Flowers and her husband Travis; brothers-in-law, Richard Jameison and Kevin Mackey and his wife Sherri; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jackie Jameison.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester will be held on Thursday, August 10th, from 5 to 7 p.m.
His. Funeral Service will be held in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lanesville on Friday, August 11, at 3:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
