He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Rita Dunphy (O'Neil); his sisters, Darlene Walkiewicz (Craig) and Donna Walker; and his father Daniel Dunphy. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

“I remember david so well from my childhood. We met at rose lane nursery school, at which we became “engaged” when i accepted a piece of bazooka bubblegum from him. We remained friends until i moved away in sixth grade. This letter is a testament to the fact that i never forgot him. And i never will. I’m so sorry that we lost touch.
