Grace Deffer Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Grace Deffer of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, born in Brooklyn, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 18, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Deffer; and her siblings, James Rutherford, Mary Blenis and Elizabeth Rutherford Wise. She is survived by: her sons, Scott Deffer of Beverly, MA and Barry Deffer (Ronna Zigmand) of Great Barrington; her brother William Rutherford of North Carolina; her children-in-law, Paula Deffer (Scott) and Karl Zigmand; her grandchildren, Andrew Deffer (Kathryn), Eric Deffer (Nicole), Alison Dube (Matthew), Kyle, Ava Zigmand and TJ Brown; and her great grandchildren, James, Jack, Harry Deffer (Andrew), Emersyn, Everett, Ethan Deffer (Eric), Thomas, Olive and Callum Dube (Alison).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home (426 Main St, Great Barrington, MA 01230). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
