Richard J. Gardella Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard J. Gardella of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 1, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Richard may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Charles A. Gardella, Louis J. Gardella and Norma Palmer. He is survived by: his daughter Rina Gardella (Adam Morelli); his nephews, Mark Gardella and Mike Gardella; his cousin John Guarnieri; and his godson Victor J. Zucco. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and his favorite German Shepherd.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home (33 South St, Great Barrington, MA 01230). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Richard's memory may be made to the Great Barrington Police Association in care of the funeral home.
