We are sad to announce that, on November 23, 2025, at the age of 85, Martha Damon of Greenfield, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira W. Graves and Leona I. Graves (Johnson); her brother Edwin J. Graves; her siblings-in-law, Jack Martin of Mt. Juliet, TN, David Grader of Buckland, Bruce Gibbs of Northampton, Margaret Gibbs of Northampton, Pam Graves of Shelburne and Grace Thayer of Eastampton; and her son-in-law Mark N. Nelson, Sr. of Montague.
She is survived by: her husband William; her children, Kathy Nicholas (Ray) of Greenfield, Mary Williams (Mike) of Montague and Steve Damon (Joyana) of Gill; her grandchildren, Michael Nelson (Bethany) of Montague, Jennifer Vight (Jeremy) of South Hadley, Mark Nelson, Jr., Scott Nicholas (Kellie) of Erving, Kimberly Gleason (Adam) of Greenfield, Isaac Damon of Gill, Robby Nicholas of Okeechobee, FL, Ricky Nicholas of Okeechobee, FL, Michelle Douckas of Templeton and Tyler Williams (Lauren) of Hampton, VA.; her siblings, Nancy Martin of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jim Graves (Lauretta) of Shelburne and Sue Grader of Buckland; her siblings-in-law, Dottie Damon of Hinsdale, Sarah Jean Graves of Shelburne and Russell Damon of Hinsdale; her friend Martha; and her daughters, Deb Miller and Tabitha Goncalves.
Martha's family will receive guests on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 4PM - 7:00 PM at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA 01301. (Parking available at the rear of the funeral home or in the municipal parking lot behind the Second Congregational Church.) In memorial of Martha, the family would prefer donations to either the Parkinson's Research Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in lieu of flowers.
