It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Edward Gomes of Harwich, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gomes and Anna Gomes; and his son Richard E. Gomes, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Gomes (Galvin); his children, Sharlene Gomes and Kim Marie; his grandchildren, Lindsay Vittori (Mark Schedler), Madison Weatherwax-Borey (Mike Borey), Taylor Weatherwax and Jake Weatherwax (Madysen Weatherwax); and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Liam, Logan and Aria. He is also survived by his eight siblings, and by a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to The Family Pantry of Cape Cod (Harwich Food Pantry) an organization close to his heart.
