It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Roumeliotis of Haverhill, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 30, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paraskevas Handakas and Olga Handakas (Gabriel); her husband Nicholas Roumeliotis; her daughter Olga Broyer; her son-in-law Kenneth Belmer; her siblings, Vasiliki Handakas and Stella; her brother-in-law Frank Valentino; her sister Lucy Karis; her brother-in-law Dr. Charles Karis; her sister Flossie; and her brother-in-law Strates Frangulas.
She is survived by: her daughter Priscilla Belmer of Haverhill; her son-in-law Thomas Broyer; her siblings, Paul Handakas of Baltimore, MD., Chrysoula "Goldy" Panacopoulos of Haverhill and Thelma Savvas (Michael) of Haverhill; her grandson Nicholas Belmer (Robin Harriman); her great grandchildren, Matthew Tragiou (Brianna) of Thomas, AJ, Giovanni, Dominic, Jeremy, Gabriella, Hope Madi, Konner, Aaliyah and Jackson; and her friend Vicki Damphousse. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The lavaro will be donated to Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox church to retire the original lavaro purchased in 1965 by Olga Handakas in memory of her beloved husband Paraskevas Handakas.
