Sissel leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sissel’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leif Selsbak Kvaal and Helga Cecilie Kvaal; and her sister Tove Kvaal Grevstad. She is survived by: her husband Jarle Hagen Dahl; her children, Birger Stamperdahl (Juliet Stamperdahl), Cecilie Dahl (George Cronin) and Kari Johanne Bodycote (Bob Bodycote); her grandsons, Xavier McNulty (Linnra Ma), Ian McNulty and Leif Stamperdahl; and her pet Harlie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Children's Literacy Fund (https://secure.clifonline.org), which provides under-resourced children in Vermont and New Hampshire with new books, author visits, and enriching literacy experiences.
