He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart Macmillan and Margaret Macmillan (McCorkle); and his siblings, Andrew, Anthony and Jean Bennion (Macmillan).
He is survived by: his wife Sunny (Gould); his children, Kate McFarlane (James) of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Douglas (Tanya) of Dallas, Texas and Anne Deems (David) of Dallas, Texas; and his grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Maggie and Tad.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to organizations dear to Alec such as the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Hingham Historical Society, or the Trustees of Reservations, or the charity of your choice.
