He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Annie Naughton Dowling; and his wife Marthann O'Connell Dowling. He is survived by: his children, James Edward, Kevin, Michael Dowling and Ann Marie Dassatt. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
