He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Anne Slicious Rakes; his children, Sharon Santiago Rakes (Angelo), John Rakes, Michael Rakes (Gretchen) and Stephen Rakes (Terri); his grandsons, David, Patrick, Caden, Dylan and Jackson Rakes; his great grandchildren, Aurora and Declan Rakes; his siblings, James Rakes, Joseph Rakes and Patricia Rakes; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Rakes, Evelyn Slicious, Joseph Slicious and Ronald Slicious. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
