He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Joseph Starkus and Hilda Starkus (Savinsky); his wife Mary Ann (Nygard); his daughters, Karen Nahrwold (Timothy) of Rutland, Laurie Cote (Michael) of Princeton and Brenda Prachniak (Kieth) of Holden; and his siblings, Geraldine Zecco (Francis Zecco Sr.) of Holden, Joyce L'Heureux of Valencia, CA, Charlott Delfem of Worcester and James Starkus (Diane) of Las Vegas, NV.. He was also cherished by his two granddaughters, nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (114 Princeton St, Jefferson, MA 01522).
