He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick E. Joy and Mamie Joy (Ashe); his wife Sandra; and his sister Ruth Rajaniemi (Joy). He is survived by: his nieces, Tammy Rajaniemi of Townsend and Ronna Rajaniemi of New Hampshire; and his stepchildren, Andrew Blake of Florida, Amanda Roy of Sterling and Candace Plummer of Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
