We bid farewell to Nancy M. Flaherty of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 28, 2026 at the age of 84. Nancy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eustace Scannell and Ann Scannell (Crowley); her husband Mark J. Flaherty Jr.; her brothers, Michael Scannell (Yvette), Frank Scannell and Marty Scannell; Joe Pomarole.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deirdre Flaherty, Susan DiPalma (David) and Anne Mermelstein (Josh); her grandchildren, Katie, Becca, Vince, Celia and Mark; her brothers, Paul Scannell (Gail) and Charlie Scannell; her sister-in-law Marlin; and her stepsiblings, Maria Scannell, Natalie Scannell, Stacey Roh, Dan Scannell (Joeng), Edwin Scannell and David Scannell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Nancy's favorite charities: Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, Catholic Relief Services, Archdiocese for the Military Services, St. Vincent de Paul in care of St. John the Evangelist, Doctors without Borders, Special Olympics of Massachusetts, Project Just Because, Rosie's Place or the Arthritis Foundation, Massachusetts Chapter.
