It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert William Lis of Housatonic, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Robert William departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Robert William may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Robert William leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lis and Victoria Lis (Kania). He is survived by: his wife Irene Lis (Felten) of Housatonic; his children, David Lis (Kristin) of Plymouth, MA and Annette Darrow (Denny) of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandchildren, Carolyn Lis, David Lis and Lucy Darrow.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home (33 South St, Great Barrington, MA 01230). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish (1085 Main St, Housatonic, MA 01236).
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Robert's memory may be made to either the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Building Fund or Saint Jude Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
