We announce the death of Joao T. Monteiro of Hudson, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Joao will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Puim Monteiro and Maria Sousa Tavares Monteiro; and his brothers, Antonio Tavares Monteiro and Jose Tavares Monteiro. He is survived by: his wife Maria Monteiro; his sons, Dennis Monteiro (Denise) of Berlin and David Monteiro (Christine) of Hudson; his sisters, Liduina Chaves (Tony) of Hudson and Maria Gloria Tavares Monteiro of Santa Maria, Azores.; his grandchildren, Marissa Mellen (Josh) of Milford, Jason Monteiro (Morgan) of Worcester, J. J and Jack Monteiro of Hudson; and his great grandchild Sofia Monteiro.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home (50 Central St, Hudson, MA 01749). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Michael's Parish (21 Manning St, Hudson, MA 01749). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Michael Cemetery (278 Cox St, Hudson, MA 01749).
