We announce the death of John P. Sontag Jr. of Hull, Massachusetts, born in Quincy, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 79. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Sontag and Dorothy Sontag. He is survived by: his wife Donna A. O'Neil Sontag of Hull; his children, Julianne Sontag Pierce Tassoni (Frank Tassoni) of North Attleboro and Jack Sontag (Susan Sontag) of Carver; his granddaughters, Kaeli Pierce of New Hampshire, Sophia Pierce of North Attleboro and Olivia Sontag of Carver; his sister-in-law Carol O'Neil; his nephew Nick O'Neil (Nicholas Vaughan) of Weymouth; Dianne Sontag Murray and Paul Sontag.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home (21 Emerald St, Hingham, MA 02043). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
