He was predeceased by: his son Joseph "Joey" L. Merlino, Jr.; his parents, Leo Merlino and Felicia Merlino; his sister Marjorie; his brother-in-law Joe Guaragna; and his brother Leo Merlino.
He is survived by: his daughter Denise M. Merlino (Darren R. Durfee); his grandchildren, Joseph, Shannon, Matthew, James and Jackie; his great grandchildren, Sunny, Anthony, Vincent, Braelyn, Madelynn and Jameson; his former wife Annette L. Yunghans; his caregiver Diane Murphy; his close friends, Walter and Cathy Fromm; his goddaughter Cherylinn Fromm; Mary O'Toole. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Casper Funeral Home (187 Dorchester St, Boston, MA 02127).
