He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold R. Hawkes and Irene Hawkes (Cissell); his former wife G. Dolores Hawkes; and his brother David L. Hawkes. He is survived by: his wife Sandra A. Hawkes (Pierce); his children, Robert Hawkes Jr. of Rowley, MA, Laurence Hawkes of Danville, NH and Debora (Charles Bamforth) of East Hampstead, NH; his grandchildren, Craig, Ariana Bamforth, Robert Hawkes III, Allie, Brie and Ava Hawkes; his great grandchild Sailor Hawkes; his children, Kenneth and Michele Langlois; and his grandchildren, Hunter and Hope Langlois.
