He was predeceased by: his wife Susan C. Scherer (Kingman); and his parents, Robert G. Scherer and Maryann E. Scherer (Wozniak). He is survived by: his children, Kristen Thompson (Scherer) and Bobby Scherer; his grandchildren, Olivia Thompson and William Thompson; his siblings, Tom Scherer, Maryanne Martin (Scherer), Cindy Scherer, Suzy (Scherer), Dwyer (David), Debi (Scherer) and Mitchell (Kevin); and his siblings' children, Melissa, Emily, Glen, Paul, Cam, Jean, Mark, Danny, Lauren, Katie, Denis and Marina.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Morris Funeral Home (45 N Main St, Ipswich, MA 01938). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the same location.
